Breaking Point.

It’s not something I think about a lot (I’m not yet sure if that’s a good or bad thing), but on my mind lately has been the thought of divisions in the body of Christ. I recently through Ephesians, and chapter 4 was one of the most eye-opening sections of the book. On the subject of Christian Unity/Division, Paul states in verses 2-3 “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit throught the bond of peace.” Simple, you would think…However, at times all of us have a mindset of a “Self-Serving Faith”. It’s not about Christ with that perspective. While we should be going out of our way to pour over each other in love and selflessness, our reputations, egos, political parties, races, desires and all things of the like halt us. Being a Christian and living completely in an attitude of humility go hand in hand. It starts with a completely unified body of believers, or else it’s going to fail. If you can’t live completely at peace with a fellow follower of Christ, how can you expect to with someone who doesn’t acknowledge your faith? I fail at this. Poorly. But if I don’t look to Christ to cover up my selfishness, then I will never succeed. I challenge you, whoever reads this note, to join with me in puttting Christ first,  others second, and ourselves last. How? Ephesians 4. Go out of your way to lift others up before yourself. Put anything andeverything that hinders you living selflessly or being at peace with someone behind you.
